Lorenz Müller

Dr. Lorenz Müller is a trained neurophysiologist working previously at the Dept. of Physiology, University of Rostock and at the Dept. of Pharmacology, University of Oxford.

He is co-investigator of the project SP4: "Modeling dystonia in an endogenous human cellular system: Platform and characterization of iPSC-derived neurons from patients with monogenic isolated dystonia".

He has focused on neuronal transmission and network dysfunction in various disease models including the pilocarpine model of temporal lobe epilepsy15 and as an honorary researcher of the Oxford Nuffield Dept. of Neuroscience on NMDAR-antibody mediated limbic encephalitis using field-potential and patch-clamp techniques as well as optogenetic tools. He has been funded with two intramural grants of the University of Rostock and is currently a resident and research scientist at the Dept. of Neurology, University of Würzburg.
